Driving Utility Innovation and Global Growth

In 2024, Open solidified its leadership in utility technology with Smartflex's continuous evolution, introducing 119 new features. These updates introduced unique differentiators that position this solution as the best technological option for utility companies undergoing digital transformation. Additionally, the company expanded its global presence by launching operations in Europe.

Over the past year, Open strengthened its agile, non-disruptive upgrade model, enabling its customers to reduce CIS upgrade costs by up to 70%, replacing traditional lengthy and costly product updates. Today, 18 customers operate under this model, with 7 going live this year and 12 more initiating new implementations.

Smartflex has significantly advanced in scalability, reliability, and compliance, now offering digital advanced payment solutions, an extensible self-service portal, optimized reporting, and a new set of API’s for seamless integration with other applications. Its SaaS solution achieved 99.94% availability, exceeding industry benchmarks.

A major milestone was Open’s expansion into Europe with new offices in Spain reinforcing Open’s goal to be recognized as a global leader in utilities and telecommunication industries. Gartner continues to recognize Open among the world’s top CIS providers in their Utility CIS Market Guide.

Customer satisfaction remains at the core of Open’s success, reflected in a 5/5 on Gartner Peer Insights—the only CIS provider to achieve this level. Investing 32% of revenue in R&D, Open fosters continuous innovation through initiatives like its annual Hackathon, which delivered seven product enhancements in 2024.

Open demonstrates its unwavering commitment to security and quality with 26 consecutive years of ISO certifications. Additionally, the company maintains SSAE 18 SOC 2 Type 2 compliance, reinforcing its dedication to compliance and operational integrity across all services.

Open’s commitment to talent and diversity is evident in its 32% female representation and an industry-leading 3% Employee Turnover Index. The team averages 10 years of tenure, with a 9/10 satisfaction index and 23,396 hours of training in 2024.

Looking ahead to 2025, Open will continue advancing its product with new artificial intelligence capabilities, enhancing efficiency and driving transformation in the utility and telecommunications sectors. Through innovation, excellence, and sustainability, Open continues to redefine the future of technology for the industry.
