Open strengthens its position in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant

The Gartner Magic Quadrant for CIS solutions has included Smartflex for the fifth time running.

Gartner, market analyst firm and world leader in research and IT consulting, has included Open in its 2018 Magic Quadrant for utility CIS solutions. The results of Gartner’s in-depth research are presented in the Magic Quadrant itself and in an accompanying report detailing the capabilities and vision of the most important players in the market.

Jesus Sanchez, Open’s Vice President of Marketing, had this to say: “As the digitalization of the utility sector advances, utility companies need flexible software solutions to help generate new products and services which harness the IoT, Smart Meters, and the participation of customers in the value chain. To stay ahead in the open digital economy, service providers should be able to easily integrate their CIS with external cloud-based systems to quickly adopt new business models and provide convergent services to their customers. Service providers with these capabilities have the agility they need to respond quickly to market conditions and continue to deliver an outstanding experience at every step of the customer journey”.

The Smartflex CIS solution is a technological platform that supports critical end-to-end operational and commercial processes for utilities in over 18 countries. With Smartflex, utilities can manage customer leads, customer care, meter-to-cash, fieldwork activities, and decision-making processes all within a single solution. This unification of software ecosystems allows service providers to reduce TCO, increase efficiency, improve customer experience, and enhance the monitoring and control of their operations.

Open’s experience in highly-competitive markets has driven the company to develop product features which effectively deal with the challenges currently facing utility and telecommunications companies internationally. Furthermore, the company’s commitment to innovation and its extensive knowledge of industry regulations has allowed it to build a solution which supports the latest trends such as net metering, net billing, bundled services, distributed generation, electric vehicles, and prepay.
